Photo a Day Week One Round-up | Jan 1-7, 2014
So here we are just one week, into 2014, and I thought I'd stop in to say that so far, this daily photo thing has been going quite well, I can immediately notice that I'm examining everyday things in a different way. A couple of photos have already turned out very nicely, this happily reinforces my decision to make the year long commitment
I've already seen quite a few challenges crop up. I have also found myself, in routine, and wondering how to break from it. There has already been two days, with a photo that I'm not too happy over, as the pictures felt very good when taking them, and when looking at them later, I was disappointed. I was carrying around my trusty old Canon S95, and the 10 Megapixel sensor normally performs just fine. However the photos that were taken in low-light, are ones that turned out quite disappointing. I felt at the time I had a reasonable expectation of quality from a point and shoot sensor, an exchange made for more portability. In this case I was left wanting, and it's forced me to be a little bit more careful.
After the first photos error, I've opted to carry around my D-SLR to get higher quality images. So let's see how this week goes. In an effort to keep it portable I'm only travelling with one lens. A nice fast 50 mm 1.4, to keep it light, which brings a new challenges of using a Prime lens.
