Hidden shrines

This past weekend I went Geocaching again, a fun game that I started just before I left Canada and I do have to say that I have discovered a lot of new and interesting places in Bangkok because of it. This weekend takes the prize though. This Geocache is the quintessential reason why Geocaching is so much fun!

I thought this cache would be at "just another Bangkok shrine".  It is in a hidden location, down a soi that is cut off by a canal, the type of place that you would never stumble upon. The cache was GC2KVVK - Chao Mae Tuptim Shrine.  This little corner is full of bizarre phallic symbols all over the place. All different sizes, shapes and materials.  Left behind, and donated by those who are looking for some good fortune and fertility. These are found amidst some dresses that are hung around, and little Apsara dolls, but they do take all of the attention of any visitor there.

If you like to cache, and discover new things put this on your "to see" list, this won't be in your guide book.  This is Thailand!
