Okay some things still surprise me in Thailand...Orchids and Roses at Central Chidlom
When I stepped inside Central Chidlom, the first thing that hit me was the smell, next all the colours..they are currently having a "Flower Extravaganza" and I don't think there is a better name for it. Central is a 7 story mall with open concept stores. Right now it's full of flowers, they are everywhere, winding their way through the displays, past creepy mannequins and they are beautiful. They costs "millions of Baht¹" and make me think that most of the money probably came from the labour to create the display. I bought an orchid once or twice (well exactly three times in my life but I gave one to my grandmother for her birthday), and I couldn't keep either of them alive, let alone thousands. I wonder just how long these ones will hold up...
There are so many beautiful flowers in Thailand, and they're widely available. Where else can you drive down the street and have someone sell you a garland of Jasmine to help freshen your car? This time, unlike the watermelon post...I was shocked walking into Central Chidlom. I thought they had to be fake.
If you are in the area, stop by. It's gorgeous. It's like the flower market has been relocated, and has become more stunning.
