The residents of Tonle Sap

Having been lucky enough to get to go to Cambodia again I had the opportunity to get out on a boat into Tonle Sap. I thought I would share a few photos I took of the locals. The Tonlé Sap is a combined lake and river system of major importance to Cambodia. The Tonlé Sap is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and is an ecological hot spot that was designated as a UNESCO biosphere in 1997. Wikipedia

Area: 2,700 km² which increase to over 12,000 km² in November when it's at its peak in monsoon season.
The residents live in floating houses that adapt to the water levels, in one photo you can see the water marker which shows pretty low as August is just getting towards the end of the low season. Hammocks, and bright colour paint are pretty much a staple to any floating house.
